DERMAL FILLERS PROCEDURE

Dr. Gujjar’s patients not only love their dermal filler results, they also love that the procedure is quick and doesn’t require time off work to recover. Most dermal filler appointments take less than an hour, and you will be able to continue on with your day after the treatment. When you arrive to your dermal filler appointment, Dr. Gujjar will review the treatment areas and establish the optimal injection sites. Next, an antibacterial solution is applied to the injection sites. Most patients easily tolerate the injections, but a topical numbing agent can be used at this stage to minimize any discomfort. With each injection, Dr. Gujjar massages the area and evaluates the results to ensure a natural-looking outcome. Once he has completed the injections, he will provide any applicable aftercare instructions.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in our skin that has the capacity to retain moisture, providing volume and plumpness. When used as a filler, hyaluronic acid is injected into specific areas, like the cheeks or lips, replenishing lost volume and smoothening wrinkles.

HYALURONIC ACID-BASED FILLERS

HA fillers have a gel-like consistency and work to plump the skin by improving and maintaining hydration. HA fillers often contain lidocaine to reduce any post-treatment discomfort. Patients can expect to enjoy their HA filler results for six months to a year before retreatment is needed. Candidacy for dermal fillers can be determined in a consultation with Dr. Gujjar. He will want to learn about your cosmetic concerns, medical history, and expectations for treatment. He will also need to assess the structure and tissues in the proposed treatment area. In general, ideal candidates for dermal fillers are in good physical health, do not smoke, and are committed to following all pre- and post-treatment instructions provided by Dr. Gujjar.

When do i see the results:

The full impact may become increasingly apparent in the days following the procedure as any initial swelling subsides and the filler integrates with the skin.

Post Treatment Care & Instructions:

  • Do not touch or massage the treated areas for at least 6 hours after the procedure to prevent moving the filler.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise and physical activity for 24-48 hours to reduce the risk of swelling and bruising.
  • Keep your head elevated when sleeping for the first night to further minimize swelling.
  • You can use a cold pack wrapped in a cloth for short periods to help reduce swelling and discomfort.
  • Stay out of direct sunlight and tanning beds to prevent additional irritation for at least 1-2 weeks.
  • Drink plenty of water to help your body heal and recover.
  • Limit alcohol and salty foods as they can contribute to swelling.
  • Follow your provider's recommendations regarding pain relief medications and avoid aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) that can increase bruising.
