WHAT IS JUVEDERM?
Juvederm is a family of injectable dermal filler products. Dr. Gujjar uses Juvederm to sculpt aesthetic facial contours and to reverse visible signs of aging caused by a decline in the body’s natural production of hyaluronic acid. The Juvederm family includes:

While each Juvederm filler has distinct properties, each contains hyaluronic acid within an extremely smooth gel that is formulated to optimize delivery via injections. After injection at the treatment sites, the product immediately begins to draw moisture into your skin to hydrate and plump the area.
In addition to hyaluronic acid, the gel contains lidocaine. Lidocaine is a numbing agent which helps to minimize discomfort during the injections.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A JUVEDERM TREATMENT
To start, Dr. Gujjar will identify the best injection sites for your facial sculpting needs. Dr. Gujjar’s expertise in cosmetic dermatology and his innate artistic sense guide his selection of the optimal injection sites to achieve your desired look.
Once the sites are located and marked, Dr. Gujjar will inject a precise amount of Juvederm. Since Juvederm fillers contain lidocaine, most patients tolerate the injections with ease. After the injections, Dr. Gujjar gently massages the filler to ensure smooth, aesthetic results.
HOW DOES JUVEDERM WORK?
As you grow older and your natural production of hyaluronic acid decreases, your skin will become thinner and drier. Think of a dry riverbed. The dryer it gets, the more cracks develop on the surface. Wrinkles are cracks that become creases and folds over time. That is where Juvederm comes in. After years of exhaustive research, doctors discovered that hyaluronic acid makes an excellent filler ingredient for sensitive areas such as the lips and throughout the face. The gel-like serum in HA-based Juvederm injections immediately adds volume, which can enhance facial features and smooth out wrinkles and lines.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER JUVEDERM
As with any treatment, Dr. Gujjar provides patient-tailored aftercare instructions. To promote optimal results, Dr. Gujjar often recommends that patients abstain from intense exercise, alcohol consumption, and sun exposure for 24 hours after the injections. He may also advise you not to wear makeup or use certain skincare products immediately after treatment.
